The Vehicle Banksman Training Course can be ITSSAR accredited or In-House and are fully recognised by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) and provide candidates with the relevant practical skills and knowledge required to correctly and safely bank a variety of vehicles within the workplace.

As with all available courses we can train anywhere within the UK onsite. We also cover all shift patterns for your convenience including night shift training and weekends at no extra cost.
About the Vehicle Banksman Training Course
Our ITSSAR Accredited Vehicle Banksman Course delivers a minimum of 7.5 hours of instruction and is designed to instruct up to a maximum of 6 delegates per course, providing the skills needed to safely bank vehicles prior to a risk assessment, carry out an effective risk assessment of their working environment with great confidence.
This course is ideal for all new vehicle banksman with little or no previous experience in banking small to large vehicles using one or more banksman – the ITSSAR course complies with the standards set out in accordance with the HSE Code of Practice L117 (ACOP).

Course title:
Vehicle Banksman Novice & Refresher Course
Course aim:
To provide an understanding of Regulations and current guidance related to the responsible persons
for vehicle manoeuvring and reversing operations, including HASAWA, MHASAW, PUWER, The
Workplace (HS&W) Regulations Safety Signs Regulations, HSG 136, and INDG148
Course elements:
The course will comprise of theoretical and practical instruction covering the following:-
2.1 Accidents – causes and prevention
2.2 Acts and Regulations
2.3 Understand the limitations of differing vehicles available
2.4 Understand correct procedures in manoeuvring vehicles
2.5 Banksman responsibilities
2.6 PPE
2.7 Safe systems of work
2.8 Recognised signals
2.9 Risk assessing the manoeuvre
2.10 Planning the manoeuvre
2.11 Practical applications of the course content
Knowledge:
On completion of training candidates will have a theoretical understanding of the following:-

Course duration:
The Vehicle Banksman Course runs for 7.5 hours with a maximum of 6 delegates per course . ITSSAR accredited courses for Vehicle Banksman are strictly a maximum of 6 delegates to one instructor to ensure the training meets the Approved Code of Practice L117. Certification:
Successful delegates will receive an operator certificate of basic skill and ability endorsed by ITSSAR with their registration number to the Trained Operator Passport Scheme (TOPS).
We also offer an in-house certificate for employers who prefer accreditation to be used only on their premises (in-house).
